Headaches, migraines, eye pain, ear pain, tinnitus, even chronic fatigue, depression and hearing loss - these and many other problems could all be symptoms of TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder).

If you were bottle-fed, not breastfed as a baby, suffered frequent ear infections as a child, had pre-molar extractions in connection with orthodontic treatment, if you were raised on a diet of primarily soft, processed food, if you needed to have your wisdom teeth taken out when they erupted, then you are probably a candidate for TMD.

TMD, and its cascade of symptoms, results from the jaws being misaligned, usually with the lower being too small and too far back, and sometimes, crooked.

Not only does this cause pain by putting pressure on the sensitive nerve bundle in the TMJ, it causes neck, back - even knee problems by throwing the body out of alignment.

The good news is that for many patients it can be easily remedied - without surgery - by using a custom made orthotic appliance to rebalance, bring the jaw forward, or rotate it if needed.
